Not getting 4G LTE icon

Hi everyone

I changed service today, I went from cricket wireless to at&t and for some reason I'm not getting (or seeing ) 4G LTE service any time I see all the time H , or H+ ,

I tried going online if I have the correct APN setting and everything seems to be set good ( when I was on cricket wireless I have all the time 4g LTE and as I know cricket wireless use the towers of at&t )

U use a galaxy Note 9 unlocked bought from Samsung

So if any can help I would be very happy

Hello again!

Try reestablishing your connection to the network. With the device turned on, choose Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings > Reset Settings > and finally Reset Settings again.

Let us know how this turned out for you!

We want to look into that for you @Yoseff!

While 4G (LTE) is fastest, H (HSPA) and H+ (HSPA+) is faster than 3G.

Depending on the make and model of your phone you’ll want to verify if the data is enabled. Visit our Device Support portal and select Tutorials > Connectivity > Signal & cellular data. If data is active, simply powercycle your device (turning it off, then after 20 seconds, turning it on again) then check if the 4G icon displays or try accessing the internet.

Another available option is to visit our Troubleshoot & Resolve tool then select Internet and Service/Network Issues.

We hope this info is useful.

I am having the same issue with my Note9 bought directly from Samsung. I have been told that because it's an unlocked phone, I can't get LTE speed, which I'm pying for. Is this true

Sad to say, but I am currently having this issue with my Note 9 bought directly from Samsung! Hours upon hours spent on the phone with AT&T blaming Samsung and Samsung telling me that AT&T has to provision the phone to work. I took it to a local tech shop and had them flash the AT&T Firmware - no success - I am returning the phone. I still don't like that AT&T won't support an unlocked phone on their network, but Verizon was going to pay me to bring my own phone to them....AT&T better get on the BYOD program or people are going to leave!

I'm having the exact issues with this as well with the exact same phone and bought directly from Samsung. Did you ever get this resolved?

There doesn't seem to be a fix for unlocked phones. However, every time I get a new security patch I get LTE and LTE+ speeds for about 24hours then it goes back to H and H+. Anyone know why this happens??

Simply put, it's happening because the phone is not an AT&T branded device.

I am experiencing the same problem with my Moto g5s Plus phone that has been working with AT&T services up until 4 days ago, when I started to receive the H, instead of 4 G LTE in the cell status.

UPDATE!!!!!

After a tweet to an influencer about this issue, with AT&T tagged, I got a response from AT&T to help. I gave the young lady my IMEI number and she got me on the LTE network. I'm, finally, happy with my Note 9.

I gave AT&T my IMEI number and they still told me they couldn't do anything about it! The rep in my local AT&T store told me that I should just sell this phone and buy one of theirs and I wouldn't have this issue! Glad you got your issue fixed!

Well At&t will take u back and forth and will let you think they will solve your problem and then after r days and over 20 phone calls with them i get the answer of oh we re sorry we can't do anything about it ur phone is unlocked . Well my phone is unlocked thats true but im paying momey to get LTE and not 3g and h+(2Mbps speed) if u have an issue with unlocked phones tell your customers before offering sim cards for unlocked phones im really dissapointed with their services and i already have a family plan since 2006 with 7 active lines and now no solution. Looking forward to switch my service provider

It all depends on the unlocked phone.  I have never had a problem getting a unlocked phone to get LTE but then again I do not let ATT know I switched phones.
