My hotspot will not turn I

Hello there, @Willmill63, We'd be more than happy to take a closer look into why you're unable to turn on your hotspot.


In order to better assist you, we need some additional information. 

  1. Can you tell us what plan you are on? This will help us view your hotspot feature and how much GB is offered on your plan. 
  2. What device are you using? This will help us find personalized steps for your device.
  3. What is happening when you are trying to connect? This will help us find personalized troubleshooting steps to get your hotspot back up and running. 
  4. When did you notice you were unable to use your hotspot? This timeframe will help us when we proceed with our troubleshooting steps.

In the meantime, visit our Wireless Support page for some troubleshooting tips. You may select the make and model of your device or sign in for personalized steps. 


Furthermore, here is a tool to update your phone and device software  on the AT&T network. You may just need to update the device for your hotspot to function correctly. It is always good to update your device to fix failed updates to your device on our networks. 


Lastly, please try going to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot then try turn it on from there instead of the dedicated Personal Hotspot section in your Settings app?
