My Galaxy Z Fold 3 will not update

I own a Galaxy Z Fold 3 from AT&T. So does my best friend. His Z fold 3 is running One UI 4.0 and I want the update. When I go to check for an update, my phone does not even attempt to check for the update. It IMMEDATELY claims the phone is "running the latest software" which is completely untrue. My phone is running One UI 3.1.1 and Android 11. I attempted to update my from Samsung Smart Switch, which claims my phone is "Up to date" and running UI 4.0. What the actual heck do I need to do to get my phone to update!?!? Please help :( :(

You should absolutely contact AT&T and let them know your phone is not running current updates.  Advanced tech support may have to put in a ticket to force the updates to your phone. 

Make sure you have both good cellular and good Wi-Fi connection at home.

I contacted support and they claimed they will "Get a supervisor to push the update to my phone" which I feel is bunk and the phone is still not updating -_-

My phone has very strong Cellular and WiFi

Typically, when a new software update becomes available a notification is sent to your device. There are a few things you can do to prepare your device for the update.

  • Check your storage to make sure there's enough space for the download.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi and make sure your device is fully charged.

Has your issue been resolved? I have the exact same problem. My Z Fold 3 is still on the October security patch and running One UI 3.1.1 and Android 11. I have tried just about everything. How do I force the software update?

Hello @King739, we understand you've also been experiencing software update delays with your Z Fold 3 device and we're here to help!

 

To confirm your software version and if any updates are available, you'll need to do the following:

  1. Swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the  Settings icon.
  2. Scroll to and select About phone, then select Software information.
  3. Android version and Baseband version can be viewed.

To check for updates:

  1. From the Settings screen, scroll to and select Software Update then select Check for updates.
  2. Select OK. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts.

Note: If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to perform the update. If an update is not available, select OK.

 

The software update releases on our website are only available for AT&T branded devices. Keep in mind:

  • The update may not work if you brought your own device to AT&T.
  • You can check with the original carrier or manufacturer for software updates.

I'm stuck on oldest version of android that provided Z Fold 3. Its F926USQU1AUG8 with Android 11 and OneUI3.1.1 and till now I doesnt get any updates. Its officially unlocked to use any carrier, so now I use this phone in Armenia. I have seen that already can update till OneUI 4.1, but mine is stucked on oldest one. How can I get update now? Or if somehow I will to it manually, do I loose network unlocking?

I'm having the exact same problem. I believe I'm one of the 1st to receive a at&t version of the z fold 3 because I went in into a corporate store & preordered mine on the 1st day you could . I've never received any software updates of security patches.

The problem is that AT&T doesnt answer to our messages at all and our phones stucked on oldest Android...

AT&T doesn't care. They already got our money. I've been with this company for well over ten years, but I think I'm switching to T-Mobile the next time I upgrade.
