Moto G5 Plus 4g LTE not working
I just got the Moto G5 Plus and I have GoPhone (prepaid) AT&T, I can use everything fine of my phone BUT the 4g or 4gLTE, I called to AT&T client service and they made me change the APN but it didn't work, I went to an AT&T store to see if they could help me with that and they tried to change the APN but still I just get an H on my internet (not even an H+).
My APN configuration right now is this:
- Name: NXTGENPHONE
- APN: NXTGENPHONE
- Proxy: Not Set
- Port: Not Set
- Username: Not Set
- Password: Not Set
- Server: Not Set
- MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
- MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
- MMS port: 80
- MCC: 310
- MNC: 410
- Authentication type: Not Set
- APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri
- APN Protocol: IPv4
- APN roaming protocol: IPv4
- APN enable/disable: APN Enabled (I can't change this option)
- Bearer: Unspecified
- MVNO type: None
- MVNO value: Not Set
Also I have another APN that was configured by default I guess when I first put my SIM card on my phone:
- Name: AT&T nxtgenphone
- APN: nxtgenphone
- Proxy: Not Set
- Port: Not Set
- Username: Not Set
- Password: Not Set
- Server: Not Set
- MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
- MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
- MMS port: 80
- MCC: 310
- MNC: 410
- Authentication type: Not Set
- APN type: default, mms, supl, hipri, fota (This changes)
- APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6 (This changes)
- APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6 (This changes)
- APN enable/disable: APN Enabled (I can't change this option)
- Bearer: Unspecified
- MVNO type: None
- MVNO value: Not Set
I had this issue before with a Moto G4 Plus and I had to put a SIM card from another company to be able to make 4G LTE work and after I put my AT&T SIM card again I had no problems at all. I haven't tried in this case because all the people around me have locked phones and the SIM cards doesn't work on my phone.
I am trying to find another SIM card but if I really don't get any solution for this problem I might just go to another carrier. This phone is amazing over all, I am just been annoyed for the network.

So ive had this problem with my Moto g5 plus since ive bought the phone, but messing around I think ive figured it out, Mind you iam using Lineage os 15.1 and my phone is unlocked
Since it is unlocked i used these settings
https://apn.gishan.net/settings/1751_4_att_apn_settings_for_motorola_moto_g5_plus.php
if you see under the first post it says unlocked phones use Nxtgenphone apn which ive chosen from my apn list, First it wasnt working still had the H+, but then i changed my apn protocol and roaming protocol to JUST ipv4 and that seemed to pull up LTE on my data (disabled wifi for testing), I noticed your settings are already like that but try and change baerer to LTE
The main issue for me was with MMS, After getting LTE to show up. I set that to send MAX 1MB In my Text program (chomp), I noticed thats what would stop most MMS from going through if the picture was more than a couple MB in size

I solved my problem, it was actually the SIM card that was not working properly.
I called the AT&T support line and told them all the situation and process that I did (tests and configurations), they helped me to make a ticket under my phone number so I could go to any AT&T store to have a new SIM card without cost. They changed my SIM card and it worked after a few hours.
