LG v35 android update?

Hello,

I purchased a refurbished LG v35 GSM unlocked. It boots up with a Claro lock-screen and had Claro bloatware but I have had no trouble with my AT&T SIM card working in it. I still have not gotten any android updates and am running android 7 when I should be on 9. Anyone know how I can get the update?

Its not a ATT branded device so updates have to come from the original carrier.

Hey there @starkiller3373!

Let's look into that for you. To begin, we'll need to find out more about your experience.

First, perform a soft reset on your phone:

  1. Press and hold the Power/Lock button on the back of the phone.
  2. Select Power off option.
  3. Then tap Power Off again to confirm.
  4. After about 30 seconds, press and hold the Power/Lock button until the lights up.
  5. Alternatively, you can press and hold the Volume Down and Power/Lock buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds and then release both buttons when the phone restarts.

Next, follow these steps to update your software. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi to download the update.

Let us know how this worked for you.

I'm not aware of anyone else having this problem simply because I don't know of anyone else who has a v35 with Claro branding. I tried the steps you suggested multiple times to no avail. One other user suggested that it is because it is not an AT&T branded phone so there is nothing you can do about it. It still seems like if my SIM is working fine I should have gotten the update 🤔

@starkiller3373

Updates are carrier based...  They all add little bits of that and little dabs of this to the rom.  You can try using LG bridge software to see if you can get the update that way.
