Hello. Isn't there any way to update LG G5 H820 to Oreo outside US? I hope such big company like ATT won't be as low to limit it to only their carrier...

Thanks for reaching out! In order to receive updates for your LG G5, you’ll need to be in the US on the AT&T network. If you return to the US, and are back on the AT&T network, you can check this support article on how to update the LG G5 with the latest software. did this rep even READ what the customer said? They are outside the USA and NOT a ATT customer. They WILL NOT GET UPDATES PERIOD. @jijibu ATT only provides updates to its customer FOTA or Firmware over the Air. You have to be a ATT customer connected to a ATT tower here in the USA to get updates. Sorry I don't have better news for you.

I guess the question is how in the world can a carrier in the United States provide an OVER THE AIR update to someone who isn't even on their network? Does LG even have a manual method to flash software?
Because Samsung can do it on devices.

because ATT is stupid with updates. I can update a Tmobile device anywhere in the world. ATT does a IMEI check of the phone before it will allow a download of the software Tmobile does not. Also ponder this the update is NOT OTA because you have to be on WiFi to download it in the first place so the data is not even carried on the cell network.
And with other carriers branded phones you can use samsung smart switch BUT NOT ATT.

My brother has an lg g5 from version and he got the update in August so y can't I get it on AT&T I live outside the USA

Hello, if someone in the U.S. can sniffer the OTA Update file download URL, that will be fine.
We can use LGUP - FOTA UPDATE feature to flash OTA Update FILE that comes with dot up file extension.
For example K37110b-K37120j.up This is the Android N 7.0 OTA Update file for LG K371, SO some LG K371 Users outside the U.S. can download this file and use LGUP to install the Update.
