Thanks for reaching out to the Community Forums for help! I can definitely understand the importance of making sure your software is up-to-date on your device. I would love to help get this resolved for you. I believe the issue is coming from where you’re located. In order for the phone to receive the software update from us, it needs to be connected to a tower on our network.
You can try to initiate a software update yourself to see if it’ll work. Take a look at this great support article. It’ll have all the information about marshmallow along with steps on how to initiate an update. If this doesn’t work for you, it’s because of where you’re located.
