LG G3 not receiving photos in texts
We have an "international" LG G3 phone and it seems to work fine here in the USA except for two things.
1) Some people text and send pictures, but the pictures don't show and won't "download."
2) There is no indication of Data mode (4G, 4G LTE, 3G, etc on the phone itself. LTE is not listed as a set up option in the list. Unable to figure out how to get it added.
Suggestions on how to get LTE mode activated? Will that then fix the Picture Text problem?

the d855 has these LTE bands
4G (LTE ) Bands:1, 20, 28, 3, 40, 7, 8
ATT you need 2,4,5,17 not one of those is in that D855 so no you wont ever get LTE.
The GSM bands and UTMS bands to match tho so you should get edge and HSPA.
Here are the settings you need and instructions

It may just be the GoPhone plan that it won't work with. Can't say with limited information.

I get mixed answers about 4G LTE service based upon the Amazon feedback I look at. There seems to be a way. But even without 4G, why are the pictures via text not working? Can not send or receive pictures. We're on the family share plan. Lots of data so no choke point there.

"LG was unhelpful to get specs on this phone. B&H says ATT 3G freq 850/1900 and 2/4/17 for 4G LTE"
So these are not US frequencies? Figured ATT was American Telephone and Telegraph. Can someone explain?
Also, wanted the phone to work in China, Ireland and England. True for ATT version?

Thanks everyone. I was able to get the phone into the service center and the lady "copied a file" from the LG Flex into this phone. Daughter's phone now has 4G data service and pictures are coming through, but as you say, the service tech reported that LTE is out of the question. We'll have to determine if the extra speed on data is required (she had no data on prior phome) to see if the difference in price of $150 is worth it.
Again, thanks for your help. I'll go look at the instructions to see if there are additional tweeks needed to what the servicer did.

Thanks much... after 18 months the phone started to do the "boot loop." Sent it back to Square Trade for waranty repair. Everything was lost in the repair. No MMS data, so... Came back to this link ( http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB424489&cv=820#fbid=IJQuJCBQfJ6 ) and followed the instructions for smartphones and it does not work.
I'm wonderting if there are other settings that we must too, fix. Like disabling LTE networks or some thing.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, it's not the 855, but it's essentially the same hardware, different firmware.
It looks like 4G should work, or if you're really tech-y, you could flash it (or BRICK it, if you're not careful), and get LTE.
4G is pretty darn fast though, unless you're streaming 4K to a tethered device, I'm not sure you'd really notice the difference much, for everyday use.
For the MMS, I would try the link above (APN) and replace NXTGENPHONE with PHONE, and see if that works.
It's ESSENTIAL to do ALL the MMS settings, sometimes it's easy to just do the phone settings, and not see the MMS ones.
