Latest Android update --can't schedule text messages!
Samsung S7 Active. My phone just updated software yesterday, Mar 14 2018. Now, I am no longer able to schedule a text message. When I tap on the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the messaging screen the only commands that drop down our block number and add contacts..
Should I try to uninstall and go back to the last version of the operating system? Or is this something that can be fixed with another update?

The function is still included in the ATT phone messages. The updates moved it from the three dots, to the + sign and then back to the 3 dots if your phone is running Oreo OS.
There are dozens of text apps like Textra which have this feature and work with MMS.

Had you read my post, the feature was moved to the 3 dots at upper right.
Back in 2018 it was moved to the + sign.
It's been moved back and forth with each update.

After much annoyance, search for a replacement SMS, I have the solution....
Believe it or not, it’s still in the native app, they just hid it. 🙄
The option to schedule is next to each message. Hit the + sign, and choose what you want to do, including scheduling.
No way is this intuitive. The only reason I found it is another App copied the format and DID include a tutorial on extra functions.

Good Morning @Mmdown,
Welcome to the Community Forums! I can understand why you like the feature of being able to schedule a text message. I can assist you with this.
You can uninstall the app and re-do the update. If your device is under warranty and you go back to the last version, the manufacturer's warranty is null and void. When you re-do the update, and if you still not able to schedule a text, Best Buy has the Samsung Experience where they will help you solve the issue hands-on.
I hope this helps. Have a great day.

So is there no way to get this function back without uninstalling the update?? I used this function daily and would very much like it back but would prefer to NOT install an update.

@KristenP
I use this function daily for work. Now I’m glad I traded in the GS7 for the GS9.
I found an app which allows scheduled text called Textra. Not perfect, but it does allow the function which I find extremely important.

Software updates cannot be reversed.
Turns out all Samsung got the update and it gutted “advanced messages “. Rather than 6 to 8 options, all we have is 2. Add recipient or block number.
I have the full list still available on the Note 4. Very disappointing. Will be looking for who to complain to about there being nothing “advanced” about the messages anymore. 😡

Thank you so much! My phone just updated yesterday. I use scheduling a text ALL THE TIME and was devastated when I thought it had been removed! Thank you again!

Thanks so much for this post! I was pretty mad when I thought the scheduling messages option was gone.
