Issues sending texts and starting group chats??

I've just replaced my Galaxy S8 Active with a Note20, but on both phones I have had the issue that I cannot send text messages to a particular set of people, send messages to phone numbers I have not texted before, nor can I start a group chat. When I try to do these things, I will type out the message and press send, then the app will back out to the screen with all of my messages. The message will not send, nor will it show that the message failed to send. I'm not sure where in the universe it's going but it is definitely not to the recipient. I've replaced the SIM card TWICE, once myself and once at the ATT store with a technician, but to no avail. Any solutions short of replacing the entire NEW phone (literally less than 2 weeks old)? 

 

NOTE: I did not have these issues with my previous phone until a particular system update, I have also not met anyone that also has these issues.

Thank you for reaching out. We're more than happy to take a closer look into the inability to send messages to specific contacts/groups.

 

Concerning the text messaging error, we want to know:

  • are you able to receive messages from those contacts
  • what network provider are they using
  • do those contacts all belong to a specific group chat
  • what particular system update are you referring to
  • when was that system update done

With more information, we'd be able to assist further.

I am having the same problem.  I have at least 3 contacts that I cannot send a text to.  When I hit send, it just clears and doesn't send.  I can receive texts from them.  Not sure of their provider.  They are not a part of a group text.
