Is it possible to switch carriers?

Hi, I've wanted to try to switch carriers for my At&t Samsung Edge S7, however when I put in the new carrier's SIM card it gives me a crossed out circle icon and doesn't allow me to enable mobile data. Are the phones forced to only use At&t or is there a way to use the new carrier?

Your phone is locked to ATT unless you have gotten it unlocked. To unlock, use the unlock portal: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/

I have unlocked my phone, yet it still isn't showing me the option to turn on mobile data.

Hello, @ ! Allow for us to further investigate into your unlocked mobile device!

We've noticed that you mentioned you're mobile device has been unlocked yet it is not allowing you the option to turn on mobile data. Have you contacted your current service provider for assistance with this feature?

As previously mentioned by @sandblaster to unlock a phone from AT&T's services, you would need go through our Device Unlock Portal. Before that has taken place, we highly recommend checking our Device Unlock Requirements. Once this has been taken completed you're device should be able to be used on another service provider's network. If you have any other inquiries or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at any time, and we will gladly be of further assistance!

That would be an issue for your current carrier. Once the phone is unlocked, there is nothing more ATT can do for you. Are you sure the phone is compatible with that carrier?
