I bought an AT&T phone & got the unlock code from AT&T. I am using another carrier-but phone still looks for USB tethering authentication.
I got an official unlock code directly from AT&T for my LG G5 H820 phone. I am using another carrier. Later on, I had a broadband outage at work and tried to use my phone's USB tethering during the outage. However, an AT&T popup said the phone could not authenticate the connection or something like that. I could not finish my work nor send the email.
However, my chat with the AT&T agent when I was applying for the unlock code told me otherwise. (see transcript below) The AT&T agent ASSURED ME that the tethering would no longer need authentication. Please instruct me as to how to bypass verification so I may use my phone for broadband during an outage. Here is the transcript of the chat:
