HTC One - not receiving texts

I just purchased a new phone HTC One on Christmas Eve, and I can receive some texts from some people and no texts from others. They all seem to be receiving my texts.

Was your previous phone an iPhone?
If so, you need to unregister your phone number from apple servers and iMessage.

Reset your Apple ID password and do not log back in on your device(s)
Send a text to 48369 with the word STOP

Good question. I believe yes.
Your iPhone (or any other apple device) can send imessage with wifi only.
No cellular connection required.
I will find and post the rest of apples support article on this ....

well. I think that confirms their messages were going to iMessage.
It can take a few hours to remove you from Apple servers.

If they have SMS also checked in their settings, the texts should
automatically send as SMS.
Unless they can't .
Two possible reasons:
your phone is set up as iPhone in their contacts, not just mobile.
OR
Your email is being used rather than phone number for imessage.

Give it a few hours, then test again.
