HTC One M9 Battery Life

Has anyone else been experiencing issues with the battery life on their HTC One M9? My phone has been shutting down automatically and when I open it up it shows that the battery is nearly down to nothing.

Hey @ivy99!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the battery life on that HTC One M9! I can understand 100% the need for a fully functioning phone and I will be more than happy to provide you with some tips and tricks to help out that battery!

A great tool that you have available is the AT&T Troubleshoot & Resolve tool. Once accessing this page, you might need to change the make and model of the phone in the upper left corner before getting started. From there, select Power & Battery under the Select a Device-Related Issue column.

A few things to keep in mind regarding battery life are:

  • The more a device is used, the more often the battery needs recharging. If possible, keep the device plugged in during heavy usage periods (long calls, videos, gaming, or during device software updates).
  • Charge the device frequently.
    • Charge overnight to ensure a full charge for the next day.
    • Keep a charger at the office and/or in the car.
    • Purchase an extra or extended life battery (if available) to use as a backup.
  • Time to charge varies by the type of power source (Power outlet is faster than computer).
  • Prolonged exposure to extreme heat or cold can degrade battery life.

Have you had a chance to update the software on the phone to the latest available? How long have you been experiencing the battery drainage? For additional information on how to extend the battery life, you can visit the HTC website as well.

Have a great weekend and take care!
