Google Services?

Hi everybody,

My Battery is still draing 3X faster than normal on my Motorola Moto X (gen1).

According to the battery feature in the settings menu, 'Google Services' is the process causing the drain.  Is there anything that I can do about this?  Is there any part of the service that I can disable?  ( I would rather be 'Google Free' if it were possible!)

I've tried ending all of the various processes and services associated with it, but to no avail.  Thanks for any support here, I appreciate all the help I've received on this issue in the past couple of weeks.  Garrick

I soved the problem inadvertantly...I uninstalled Google play and anything related to Google (news, music, movies Google+, Google Hangouts etc) then I took the step of disabling the Google Services package in my list of downloaded apps in the apps section of my settings menu.  This left me with no Gmail, no claender,  no maps, (hense no whether) and no contacts - clearly a mistake.  I reinstalled the Google Services package which by default reintroduced Google Play Store, which by default updated anything related to Google on my phone...which pixxed me off to no end - but by updating my Google Services Package, I solved the problem - yeaaa!  Now I just have to go through and disable all the crap that Google jammed down my throat!  By the way just so we're clear, If the NSA has a back door into every iphone, they use Google to walk in the front door of every android phone....

Hello! @grbaker

We also have some good tips on our how to center site that will show you how to get the most of your battery!  Go to www.att.com/devicehowto select the make and model of your phone and on the left of the page where you see the drop down options, go to and select settings then battery optimization.

Have a great day!

Next time try clearing your cache in the bootloader menu.  It may also help with play services.

I'm not sure how to do this....
