Google play services has stopped

I live in the USA, CA, San Diego.
Now, I'm in Brazil, for a little while... maybe for 2 or 3 month. and I left the USA on November 05th. When I left, I asked the at&t my carrier phone company., to freeze my account for the time that, I would be in Brazil for. But, I didn't know, that., it would stop my access to WhatsApp and my messenger... which I, only use these functions, I only use when I have a hot spot... free Wi-Fi, off course! I keep getting this warning: unfortunately, Google play services has stopped. and an other one, that I don't remember now. My name is : Flavio Oliveira . Phone number:760-334-1004. Can you help me with this issues???

Flavio1968 ,

Hi..

Solution 1 – Update Google Play Services to the latest version. You may be getting an error because you have a very outdated version or the one you have is having a conflict/bug with the current Android version in your phone.

Solution 2 – Clear the Google Play Services cache. The Google Play Services app in your phone acts like a framework for all the Google and Google Play apps installed in your phone. You can try cleaning up its cache and see if that would fix the issue. This worked with one of our team members! Read these quick and easy steps :

Go to Settings > Apps.
Scroll to All apps and then scroll down to “Google Play Services” app.
Open the app details and tap on the “Force stop” button.
Then, tap on the “Clear cache” button.

Solution 3 – Clear the Google Services Framework cache. The Google Services Framework system app on your Android device stores information and helps your phone sync with Google servers — and keeps your Google Play Services up and running. This could be one of the reasons why you are not able to connect to Google servers using the app and keep getting the error message. Read these quick and easy steps :

Go to Settings > Apps.
Scroll to All apps and then scroll down to “Google Services Framework” app.
Open the app details and tap on the “Force stop” button.
Then, tap on the “Clear cache” button.

Solution 4 – Check your Internet connection. May be your WiFi network is blocking any of the IP addresses that Google use. You can also try switching the WiFi on or off on your phone — same with mobile data.

Solution 5 – This goes without saying, but may be a simple reboot of your Android phone/tablet could fix the problem.

It is the most terrible error I have had on my Android phone. It popups in very short intervals and you can't even use the phone continue for 5 minutes without seeing Unfortunately, Google play services has stopped.

I tried many fixes and finally it got fixed.. but it took me more than 3 hours in searching the solutions and trying them. But the result was worth spending the time.

If someone is going through the same error, I would suggest you try the 5th solution here - https://www.mobipicker.com/fix-google-play-store-stopped-error-android-device/

Every Android app stores some part of data and files on your Android device for later usages like images, formatting, and other relevant files. These cached data saves time and processing power when you reopen the app later because all of the cached data are served quickly.

Sometimes these cached data are corrupted that causes certain apps to stop unexpectedly. But good thing is that we can easily clear cache data with just a tap on the button and it will help you solve the issue.

Google Play Services is a part of Google Play Store and both of them are somehow dependent on each other. Even though clearing its cache should fix your issue but in case you are still experiencing the problem, then clearing data on Google Play Services should help rectify the issue. This article can help you solve the issue.

Whatsapp does not rely on your phone number once it is set up. After that it will work with any type of internet access, wifi or mobile network even it is from other provider. Unless you change the Whatsapp setting, it will continue to work with the same cell phone number regardless your have a new phone number or no phone number on your device.

@rohanmishra92 ,

In case you didn't know, you are responding to a thread started 5 years ago, with the last response being 2 years ago.  And the original poster never responded back.

Though, frankly, I'm surprised that phone number in the OP stayed up all these years.

I face this issue so many times. Why? Actually, I like to flash different android skins on my test smartphone, that's why I reinstall google services on my smartphone. But I know what's the common issue behind it, the only reason it happens because of cache memory. Just go to settings>apps>google services and clear the cache memory. That's it, now login to your google account and you're good to go.

Read more about it here in this post

If the error message Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped. appears when using the Google Play services app of the Android TV, update the Google Play services app. Clear the data and cache on the Google Play services app.Under the System app category, select Google Play Service
