Fix and Alternative to *#*#4636#*#* on LG G6

Need a way to force LTE only mode since my phone is somewhat bad about switching to 3G. Anyway I tried using the *#*#4636#*#* code on my LG G6 and after I selected phone information I got a message saying "this application does not work on this device" is there a fix or alternative to the *#*#4636#*#* code or a way to force LTE Only on my G6?

Hello @oldsoulbenny,

Welcome to the Community Forums! I’d be happy to share some details regarding the LTE on your LG G6!

Unfortunately, there is not a way to put the phone into LTE only mode. The star code you are referring to does not work for all carriers however, we can disable the phone from going into 3G or 2G mode.

From your home screen, please go into Settings, under the Networks tab, and select Mobile Networks. In this menu you will see the option for Disable 2G. This setting will disable 2G service on the device. Please keep in mind if it is disabled, some apps and functions may not work in locations with limited coverage.

We also have a helpful Device Support tutorial which shares all the features of your phone including how to adjust the internet settings. Just select your make/model device once you are on the page.

I do hope this information is helpful! If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
