Device Setup Problem: Wifi Option Not Working To Setup The Device

I have a ZTE Z835 device. Recently, when I tried to switch on the Wifi (Pressed the wifi icon) it kept turning off itself. I restarted my device, however still couldn't fix the issue. Finally, I did a full reset but now I'm stuck on the setup where it's asking me to connect to a wifi network to complete the setup. Problem is I'm not able to connect to any wifi networks. I tried resetting it again through android recovery menu, but still couldn't fix the issue. Please help me atleast to unlock to the home menu.

You need to have access to a WiFi network in order to set up your device.  If you have a home WiFi network you will need to select that network and then provide the password in order to log in.

You should have something in your phone's settings to indicate "Network & internet," then WiFi, which should show a list of available WiFi networks, or at least your home network.

That's the problem. Even though there are several wifi networks available around me, there seems to be no wifi list in the device setup.

We can definitely help you set up your Maven 3, @joashjeshurun9

You have options when it comes to setting up your Z835. Once you get past the language screen, select Set up as new. If you don't see any Wi-Fi networks, then you can choose either:

  1. Use cellular network for setup  - requiring an active SIM card or
  2. Don't use any network for setup

AT&T Device Support is a great resource to guide you through the process. Its easy to use and may save you time vs. chatting in with tech support.

Give it a try, and once you've completed setting up - try enabling Wi-Fi and test the connection. Let us know how it goes. Thank you!
