Can't recieve Verification Text Messages - Google Pixel 6

I've had a rough transition after getting my 4G Asus phone kicked off the network by AT&T back in early October last year (for somehow having a 4G phone that wasn't 4G by AT&T standards?).

My first replacement attempt took an entire week of back and forth talks with the AT&T It department before giving up and going to a store in person. They finally figured out the issue (it was a online setting on AT&T's side that needed adjustment). That phone ended up being a flop though and I have since replaced with with the new Google Pixel 6. Out of the box, everything seemed to work just fine, but now that I need some account verification messages to go through, none of them are going through.

Also, FYI, I have tried both resetting the network and restarting the phone and neither have resolved this inability to receive verification messages.

I get the feeling there is some setting on AT&T's side that must be adjusted to get this working again (just like my previous flop of a phone).

Is anyone else having this severe of an issue?

We'll be happy to assist you with you not receiving your verification code @MoriceB.

Let's try Setting Up your Messages in settings, to see if this will allow you to receive the verification code. There are also other troubleshooting steps you can perform through there as well.

Let us know if this helps.

@ATTHelp

I ended up going to the local store to see if they could help me. We bounced ideas off of each other until we dialed in on what we thought was the problem: My IMEI number of my current phone didn't match what was in the system. Since I am not the "registered user" of the account, I couldn't get that fixed there and had to get assistance from the one who is listed as the registered user to get the IMEI and ICIID numbers corrected.

However, even after that and performing a shut down, wait for 1 minute, then power back on, my phone not only did not get the issue fixed, I then lost the ability to call and receive phone calls for some reason. The customer service person who we called then forwarded me to an advanced IT person that (after over an hour) finally managed to get the call function working again.

Though this morning, I tried sending a verification text again and it still didn't reach my phone.

Also, I've looked for this "Setting Up your Messages" option, but I do not see anything remotely close to that setting option. What settings would I be looking to adjust?

Thanks for your response, @MoriceB.

There are a lot of things that can prevent you from receiving verification codes to your device. This forums article shares a few recommendations you can try to improve your device experience.

We also suggest trying these quick tips to resolve problems with your text messaging:

  • Restart your device.
  • Turn Wi-Fi® off. Make sure mobile (cellular) data is enabled and that you can browse the web. Then try again.
  • Be sure messaging is on (Go to Settings> Advanced Messaging, and toggle Advanced Messaging OFF and ON.)

Please let us know if this information helps.

I am also having the same issues. I can receive them from AT&T but nowhere else. Ive went into a local store and everything they have tried does not work either to resolve the problem. What is seriously going on here  with your services @ATTHelp
