This seems to be more than 1800 numbers as well I'm now trying to call a number from an 828 area code and still cannot. My phone will still make calls to certain people.

Hi there @Urke, we understand the impact of making calls.

It has been a known issue of 1800 numbers unable to be dailed. Our technicians are working on it right now to have it resolved.

In the meantime, please power cycle the device and make another attempt. Also please provide the following answers:

  • What device/cellphone are you currently using at this time?
  • What active wireless plan do you have?
  • Have you received any errors when trying to call a 1800 number? If so, what does it say?

We hope this information helps.

Hi Trese67, let's help you call the 1-800 numbers again!

This is a known issue that was resolved 02/24/2023. Since you have already attempted our suggestion of power cycling your device and calling the number again, please let us know:

  1. If you are in the U.S. or outside the country. You might be unable to call 1-800 numbers while outside the country.
  2. Confirmed your AT&T Wireless coverage which is needed to make/receive calls
  3. Ensured that your call fowarding/airplane mode and Do not disturb settings are turned off as these settings may intefere with making/receiving calls. Swipe down the notication bar to access these settings.
  4. Ensured that your device software is up to date. Check for updates here att.com/softwareupdates
  5. Confirmed that your service is not suspended.  Find out how to reactivate your wireless service.
  6. Check if your calls are blocked in your call settings or our AT&T ActiveArmor app. See a list of blocked calls and why they were blocked. Learn more about AT&T ActiveArmor

Let us know if this helps! Thank you for posting on the AT&T Community Forums!

I too have been having issues with an 888 number. I've been in touch with tech support multiple times for them to tell me its not their problem. I have no issues dialing the 888 number from my old phone which is not ATT. I feel it is definitely an ATT issue. I'm using an ATT supplied s22ultra phone with service. Its just sad to pay good money for mediocre service.
