Can Not Receive Pictures In Text Messaging App

I have a Galaxy S9 and so does my wife. Lately for some reason when she tries to send me a picture through the text message app it does not come through and it says declined. Does anyone know how to fix this? I was receiving pictures from her before. But, now I cannot receive pictures from her. I am not sure what happened? Thank you for looking into this.

I have an s20 ultra and my pics are not sending thru text message either. This suddenly started yesterday. Is there an issue with ATT?  My husband is on my account and is able to send pics to me, he has the iPhone 12 pro max. I eventually receive his pics, and some will not open. Very frustrating!

Apparently, it's not just your phone.  I have a Galaxy Note 5 and same thing.  My mom has an S10+, only a few months old, same issue...  ATT no help.. saying just try help online.    I've done everything and nothing is helping.. It's ATT cell service.. IMO

Interesting. This seems to be an ongoing issue with some Android devices. We have iPhones (7 up to a 12) and have zero issues sending/receiving text/pictures to and from our Android (and Apple) friends.

Hello @stevenferg,

We'd like to look into why you can't receive MMS.

Try resetting your network setting on your device.

Are your MMS setting enabled?

Please let us know.

For ATT Help,  I'd like you to look into why I can't receive or send MMS...

I've reset my network settings and MMS setting is enabled.  I have gone through all the steps listed on the ATT website to try to resolve this issue... Nothing is working.  There is something wrong with ATT service or software.   This issue just started a few days ago and there are a lot of people having this issue.. Please help.

ATT,

This is a network issue,  not user error!  This is HORRIBLE and you need to own the problem and fix it!  It is an issue with Android only, and all Androids!  I was working fine, then suddenly MMS stopped working. The issue is with sending pictures via text message only!  It will send a picture every great once in a while, but is very delayed when doing so, and maybe 1 in 20?!!  No new apps were installed, no settings were changed, nothing!  For me, everything was working fine Friday night, then Saturday afternoon ( 1/16/2021) it suddenly stopped working. I had only sent a couple text messages that morning,  nothing else!   Please own this, research it  and fix it!

I am having these problems too. Is it because they messed something up while upgrading to 5G? Any MMS I send disappear and I've not received some MMS and texts from others. If it keeps up I'm moving my family plan to Verizon.

I've had this problem since the 13th. I went to att store and they told me several other people in the area have complained of the same issue, they told me I have to call att tech support(611) and get my phone ticketed so they know my phone is affected. They told me it should be resolved in 24-32 hours. It has not been resolved yet.😒

Thank you Chaos25 for the advise.  I called 611 and they troubleshooted my phone and I'm back in business (I think), for now.  I'm sending MMS messages, and receiving MOST texts with pics, but not all of them.  Everyone needs to call 611 and request to open a ticket.  Have another phone available because you will need to turn your mobile phone off while they work with you on another line.  They know they have an issue and are working on it, they just don't know the (Edited per community guidelines) cause yet, but will troubleshoot your phone/service and open a ticket to track it.  I JUST switched to ATT 3 weeks ago from being a Sprint customer for 26 years!!!  Sprint has been so bad for so long, I finally switched, now this!  GOOD LUCK!

I have found that lately if your phone or the person you are sending pics to is on wifi,  it will not go through.  Once they/you turn it off, it will go through.  I've recently had the same issue with read receipts not workingon wifi.
