Calypso 2 firmware update fails with 'Error'

The firmware update process over wifi ends with an image of a broken Android and the text "Error" flashing on the screen for a second or two. All I can think to do right now is try a factory reset. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I did a factory reset, after which the firmware upgrade was fine.

We want to help resolve your failed software update, @jxmfpggr

There are a number of things that may be preventing your device from updating. Below are a few:

  • AT&T Branded Device - Software update releases are only available for AT&T branded devices. This means if you brought your device from another carrier, it may not download. You may need to contact the manufacturer.
  • The device must be on the AT&T network to download the update.
  • Space - If your device does not have enough space, consider erasing unneeded files to make room.
  • If the device was not originally on the AT&T network, the update may fail.
  • Power - Your device may need at least 80% battery power.
