Calendar not updating

I have a Note 4 and since I upgraded to Marshmallow my calendar stopped updating. I have to clear the system calendar cache and then it sync's for a few hours and then it stops sync'ing again. I already checked that I am not in Power saving. Sync is on. I deleted and readded my account. I resetted my phone to factory settings and installed everything again. The problem is not the calendar app, because once it stops sync'ing none of the calendar apps work (stock, gmail, samsung focus, etc).

Hello @Note4User1,

It would be absolutely bothersome to have to constantly clear your cache to get the calendar to sync.  I would be happy to help!

Thank you for letting me know which steps you have tried.  You are correct, the power saving mode is usually the culprit.  If you could please double check by going Settings > Battery > Battery usage > More > Optimize battery usage > All apps and made sure all Google and Calendar apps are in the off position, I would appreciate it greatly!

After the previous step is completed, I would like to clear the cache partition.  This will not clear out any of your personal information.  Please start with the phone completely off.

  1. Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power.
  2. When the Samsung logo appears, release Power only. Continue pressing Volume Up and Home.
  3. Release all buttons when the Android System recovery appears.
  4. Using Volume Down, select (using Power button) wipe cache partition.

If you are using the Google Calendar app they have a great troubleshooting article for further assistance.

If you are able to fix it or need further assistance please let us know by replying in this thread.  I hope you have a splendid rest of your week!

This use to work and I think, but can't say for sure that it started after installing an AT&T operating system update.

I use Google Calendar app on my AT&T Galaxy Note 4, iPad and Windows Laptop.  Events created on the iPad or laptop show up everywhere.  When I create an event on the Note 4 it does not show up on iPad or Laptop.  If I create a reminder on the Note 4 it shows up everywhere!  So basically everything updates to everything except events created on the Note 4.

The Samsung and Google experts at Best Buy were stumped.  I have reset the phone to factory and rebuilt it - still broke.  This has to be a software bug.
