BYOD Pixel 4 - Your device is not compatible with the AT&T network
I am trying to connect my Pixel 4 (G020I) to the ATT network via eSIM... However, when I put my IMEI number into the ATT BYOD system, it says "Your device is not compatible with the AT&T network." despite it being listed on the compatible devices list.
Is this a glitch in the system, or should I just give up and go elsewhere?
Thanks!

That model requires an update to work on at&t.
If the imei is being refused, go elsewhere.

@sark
If the IMEI is being refused, then there is nothing you can do. There is no solution. Maybe there is something about your specific device that the AT&T back-end checks don't like.

Thank you for the reply.
I don't want to buy a new device; that's the whole point of BYOD.
My device is working with the other 2 cellular providers, but one of them doesn't have great service in the area, hence the interest in ATT's service.
I realize I should have phrased my original question better... Is the IMEI checker on the BYOD page (ref) the final word on compatibility with the ATT network? Apparently (?) the answer is, YES. Even if we have a supported model and unlocked device, the IMEI checker is the final word on compatibility. Hard stop.

Hello @sark, let us help you find if your device is supported on our upgraded networks.
You have a Pixel 4 which is a compatible device on the AT&T network. Here is a list of devices that will still work on the AT&T 5G network.
Staying up-to-date will protect your device from potential security risks, fix identified bugs, and ensure you have all the latest features and capabilities. Most devices will notify users when there is an update available.
You will be able to check for updates, check your device data, and more from this article AT&T Device Support and Software Updates. We recommend that you bookmark this page, and come back often to check for new software updates
Here is another option you can look into for your device not updating to our 5G networks. We can change your APN settings. The APN settings is to help you connect to the internet on your android device.
Let us know if this information helps you with your device update.

Hello.. Thank you for the reply. However this is not a solution to my issue. I am unable to sign up on the ATT network because when I try, it says my phone in incompatible, despite it being unlocked and listed on the approved devices list. =(

Thank you for the update, @sark.
Thank you to the ACE's for the support.
We do understand how important it is to start services with your Pixel 4 device. If the system is not allowing you to activate service with the device information you are providing even after you have updated to the latest software, we do recommend updating your device.
We hope this information helps. Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums. Please feel free to reach back out with any other questions or concerns.
