AT&T's recent update seriously degraded the functionality of my messaging application. Is there any way to get that functionality back?

Sometime over the last month, AT&T forced an update on my phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy S22. Before the update, I was able to search my text messages as far back as I had them. However, after the update, the search function only extends to November 1 of 2023. Even if I go into a specific chat with someone, search inside the chat for a certain word, it won't return results for any occurrences of that word before November 1, 2023. Additionally, it seems that AT&T just straight up deleted a bunch of my texts from before November 1, 2023. This has caused recurring inconveniences and frustrations for me. Is there any way to now search my text messages from before November 1, 2023? It seems like AT&T/Google (since my default messaging application is a Google application) really screwed me, and presumably others, over.

Thanks for any help.

Hey @BigAndy_909, we regret that you had to encounter such an issue. Let's get the information you need.

Android updates are rolled out by Google, and then once available It's provided by the Manufacturer that is Samsung. AT&T notifies the user once the update is available.

New update from Samsung has been rolled out, we would request you to download it.

If you're still facing the same issue, please feel free to reach out to us.

Hope this information helps.

Complain to Samsung/Google. It's their update not AT&T's.
