ATT Voicemail stopped Samsung Visual Voice Mail

For years I used Visual Voice Mail (green icon with phone outline) that came with my Samsung Ultra 22+.  No problems. Then out of the blue after an update, ATT voicemail was default voicemail and could not switch back to original version.  ATT Voice mail does not show notifications on my cell phone for me to return customer calls promptly.  I even downloaded the ATT version of "Virtual Voicemail" but deleted it for lack of functions like home screen notifications and it did not receive calls.  I would delete ATT voicemail if I could without screwing up my ability to get voicemails in the future.  I don't want ATT voicemail, just the voicemail that came with my phone. If ATT forced the voicemail on my phone, maybe I should get a new service. Permission is customary be for modifying my phone and the way it works.

Likewise, I have the above problem after trying to reset pin.

Reset pin online.

Tried to access voicemeail afterward.

Access not granted because voicemail account not set up.

Set up voicemail account. Finally got a pin number change to stick.

So I had a functional voicemail account.

Left a voicemail.

Checked the visual voicemail page, no visual notifications.

Checked the voicemail playback from keypad, (hold #1) voicemail was available, but still NO notifications. 

Called problem solving rep at 1 888 562-8662. First gal could not help. Transfered to another guy.

He tried to remote fix (with phone on/offs) and gave up after many tries without resolution and did NOT forwarding to somebody who could resolve this.

(His remote tries shut down the voicemail account, had to set up yet another time).

After set up, I left an voicemail.

Checked the visual voicemail page, no visual notifications.

Checked the voicemail playback from keypad, (hold #1) voicemail was available, but still NO notifications. 

On the visual voicemail page, hit refresh from the 3 dots on top right corner.

It posted a note to call 800 922-0204 and tell them error code 9999

Called the number,,,,, it was Verizion cell phone services. (They could not help a AT & T problem, ofcourse)

This problem will cause me a loss of business income, if not resolved.

thanks for letting me know.  I got a DM and responded but nobody answered.  I am eligible for an upgrade but now im thinking of changing.

Went to visual voicemail app. Noticed the slider for notifications was turned off.

I turned it back on to get notifications,,,,,

Rebooted phone

No change in visual voicemail notifications screen.

Found this idea when I searched for "" ATT Voicemail stopped Samsung Visual Voice  ""

Suggestion was to clear Visual Voicemail cache,,,,, cleared the cache,,,, no change in visual voicemail notifications screen.

Suggestion was to clear Visual Voicemail data,,,, cleared data cache,,,, My Visual Voicemail screen now has nonotifications of new & old voicemails.

All my previous voicemails remained intact after doing this.

Settings > Apps > Visual Voicemail > Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Data are buttons found on the bottom of screen

Post back if it works or does not work for you.

I am having a similar issue. I don't really care whether I use Visual Voicemail or standard voicemail, but Visual Voicemail seems to have stopped working about 6 months ago & I do not get any notifications when I have a voicemail (not even indication of a missed call). It is disastrous -- I'm a professional & have to be able to have clear indication when I have a voicemail or a missed call. I am considering changing service and maybe phones, too.
