AT&T Radiant Max 5G is just showing “powered by Android”

My phone won’t open beyond the screen saying “powered by Android”, I have forced a restart by pressing the volume down and power button for ten seconds but when it boots back up again the same screen reappears and nothing further happens. How do I clear this so that I can use my phone?

Thank you

Sounds like the Operating System was corrupted or the Hard Drive failed. Very likely not going to fix it. Should be able to get it exchanged through warranty if less than 1 year old, assuming no physical or liquid damage.

Hey there @Racingcar, we know how alarming it may be for your device to all of a sudden stop powering on, and we want to help!

We first want to agree with our ACE @SoloTX, for the suggestions they've provided as we strongly agree!

Be advised, If your device doesn't show signs of physical or liquid damage, you may be able to get a replacement under warranty.  You'll want to keep in mind:

  • For devices bought as new, we'll make the warranty device exchange on behalf of the manufacturer. Check your device manual or contact the manufacturer for warranty info. Your replacement device will be similar or better. It can take up to six business days to arrive.
  • For AT&T Certified Pre-Owned or AT&T Certified Restore devices, we'll send you a similar or better replacement device. It can take up to six business days to arrive.
  • For AT&T PREPAID exchanges, we’ll charge your credit or debit card for the full replacement value of the device. You’ll get that amount credited back when you send us your defective device.

Next, you'll need to confirm your coverage period

  • New Apple devices or devices replaced by Apple: Typically, a one-year warranty
  • New devices (other than Apple): Usually a one-year manufacturer warranty, but some new devices have a two-year manufacturer warranty.

Finally, you'll proceed with the replacement process and learn how to return your device

Feel free to reach back out to let us know if you have any other questions and we hope this helps!

Thanks for seeking help from the AT&T Community Forums.

@Racingcar before exchanging the device you can try to clear the cache partition and/or perform a factory reset. Look at the KB Article and search the page for Perform an alternate master reset section. Follow the steps in there until you see the screen pictured in the step #3. Instead of performing the factory reset as instructed, find an item that reads Wipe cache partition and invoke that, followed by Reboot now. If this doesn't help, then either factory reset or proceed with the exchange if eligible.

Thanks guys, I’ll give the reset a go and if that doesn’t work then it’s back to the

 store for an exchange
