AT&T Blackberry Keyone Android Update

I own one of these phones sold to me by AT&T.

There has not been an android update for years now.

The problem is I am losing some of my apps because the android is too old, Android 8.1.0.

How do I get an Android update on this phone?

You buy a new phone..  Blackberry is no longer a mobile phone company.

8.1 is the last update ever for your device.

Software updates come from the manufacturer and pass through your service provider.  Nothing from Blackberry means nothing through AT&T to your phone.

Yep. The last update was released by Blackberry Mobile in November of 2019.

In fact, the AT&T variant got updates for 5 months longer than 3 other KeyOne variants, and 7 months longer than the remaining 23 variants sold around the world.  That ended up being 7 months longer than the two years of support that was typical at the time and promised at release.

No other updates were ever issued since.

My AT&T Blackberry KeyOne won't turn on - it just keeps looping.  I've already bought a new phone but because I can't turn it on, I can't get my contacts, texts and photos (nor can I wipe the phone before sending it back in to insurance).  Just wondering if you guys had any solutions to offer on how I might be able to retrieve my stuff.  Thanks!

IF you have had your contacts backed up to google and they should still be there.

Yea, I don't think I did, but I'll explore that.  Thanks!
