Hello @Leo59jacque !

Thank you for posting your question.

At this time AT&T is working hard to make Marshmallow available for as many Android devices as possible.

We conduct more testing on OS updates before release than other carriers to ensure our customer’s continue to have a great experience with our network and services.

As a rule, we generally do not see information on device updates until the day of release and are unable to forecast availability of any OS update.

Rest assured when available, you will receive an over the air notification to your device for any available update.

Hope this helps!

this is such a *****. It has been 6 months since Marshmallow release and Note 5 is the last flagship. I still do not have Marshmallow more than 1 month after samsung released it. This is DIGUSTING!
I am NEVER going to buy any device on AT&T Next. Only the Nexus device for me going forward or Unlocked device. Not putting up with AT&T {edited for word filter evasion} . Free to choose other carriers if they mess it up!

This is all too familiar! They should not annonce a firmware update until it's ready for all or the majority of phonee. That will eliminate a lot of frustration..

I was just told by an ATT chat agent that the Galaxy S6 Android 6 Marshmallow update has been put on hold due to bug issues with the bloatware ATT installs and that now I probably shouldn't expect to get Android 6 until at least the middle of June and maybe as late as early July. This is outreagous and the fact that almost a month ago I was told it was being pushed out in waves to the S6 and to check my update option every week and now it's on hold and they don't even have the decency to post an update to let people know it has been put on hold. I am seriously considering dumping ATT and switching to Verizon. My family and I have been with ATT since 2001 when it was still Cingular and we currently have 4 lines active 3 of wich are Galaxy S6's and then my moms old old old flip phone that she basically carries in case of emergency. I am fed up witht he run around and half answers from chat agents and now to hear this news tonight really has me angry.

Yeah and that agent had no clue what there talking about. You could call again and get a different awnser since Att does not tell the front line reps about updates till they go.live.

No I don't I want to add my reply to as many people asking about the Android 6 Marshamallow update for the Galaxy S6 to let them know about the runaround we all get from ATT support. As I said in my reply I was told in early March it was being released in waves and to check updates once a week. I did that and nothing no update nada then when I chat tonight with ATT support I get told there are bug issues with the bloatware and now the S6 probably won't get Android 6 until the middle of June and yet there is no update on the forums with this info just the classic non-answer. "We at ATT test the latest Android release on as many devices as we can to insure a blah blah blah blah" so I'll reply to as many Android 6 Galaxy S6 update question threads as I can to inform the most people I can.

When I saw all these threads had been bumped at the top I knew one user was throwing their spin out there.

First of all. No one told you that and it's rather petty to insinuate and make assumptions when you have no factual evidence to back it up. In fact it's rather ridiculous to flat out make up something when the rest of us know that isn't true. No one you're talking to over the phone is even privvy to the details of the update process. The people that handle that are not on the phones. If you're not happy with lack of the update on a branded device no one is forced to use a branded phone. The manufacturers release phones directly without carrier intervention so they can follow their own update schedule.

As far as the AT&T applications are concerned. It takes absolutely no time at all to pack in a few APKs with a software release. Technically that aspect of the process is the easiest and simplest to do. If you're this upset with lack of updates then by all means, buy a Nexus. Buy direct from Samsung. Being on 5.1 doesn't suddenly make your phone lose functionality or the ability to make calls, send texts and use data. There isn't a single third party application on the Play Store that requires 6.0 or above.

Jeremy: 00:08 - Adrian(ac383g): Thank you for your patience and reaching out to AT&T Chat! My name is Adrian and I will be assisting you today : )
00:42 - Zack : Yeah I'd like to know when the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be getting the Android 6 Marshmallow update I was told almost a month ago by a chat agent that it was being released in waves and I still haven't gotten it on my phone.
04:28 - Adrian(ac383g): They are suppose to be however the only release we have had are for the s7 and s6. From what I have read the other devices are having issues with the bloat ware and are trying to get rid of the bugs before the update is pushed. We would want to push it to you guys with lots of issues at hand.
04:41 - Zack : I have an S6
05:59 - Adrian(ac383g): Im sorry for the G4 and s7
06:26 - Zack : Ok I don't suppose there is any ETA on when the bugs might be fixed and they start to push it out to the S6 again?
08:11 - Adrian(ac383g): Not yet At this time. I am assuming mid jun or July but still have no exact date.
08:21 - Zack : Ok thanks for the update.

This is my chat transcript from the ATT chat support stating exactly what I said in my reply. So you were saying about how I was making this up.

Yeah that chat agent has no clue and just wanted you off chat. And as for a month some chat rep can't read a change log as March 3 Att released a security patch for the s6 that for some reason people thought was mm. It amazes me that you would just post something like you did when you have no real facts. A chat rep has proven to not to be a reliable source time and time again. Ask the news blog that went nuts with a chat rep saying the note 5 was getting mm. They ate crow on that one.
