When will the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge be getting the Marshmallow (6.0) update?

Verizon used to be worse. I switched to AT&T from verizon for that very reason. Now it's AT&T that is driving in the slow lane

Still can't believe the Samsung S6 doesn't have a Marshmallow update.  What's taking so long, AT&T?  QA testing your bloatware?  I've never been so mad at a company I do business with.  This is the last time I'm buying a carrier-branded phone from AT&T, period.

There is no answer on release date. Never will be. It's ready when it's ready and that is the only answer anyone will get.

I see numerous Verizon posters on their forums reporting issues. Why bail water when you can make sure there are no leaks ahead of time. The Exynos phones have terrible battery life as it is.

care to explain how exynos processors chew more battery life than a snap dragon 810 or 808?  My edge+ gets almost 5 to 6 hours of screen on time...  The v10 I have gets 4 if im lucky that could be lg's ui or the 808 junk they put in it.  My nexus 6p has about the same performace as the edge+ but the 6p has bigger battery

I get 2 full days out of my V10 easily. SD808 consumes far less battery and Adreno is much more optimized. I deal with the S6 and other Exynos phones daily. 2500mah is a microscopic battery for a phone of that caliber. I've seen customer who dropped from 100% to less than 5 with 90 minutes of 3D screen time. Mali is just weak. XDA, Android Central, Tom's, Howard Forums...thousands of posts about S6 and weak battery. Indoor signal reception isn't the greatest either and this contributes to battery drain because the antenna has to pull more power...

In fact the S7 was touted as a successor that corrected low battery life by increasing it to 3000mah.

again your going off of the S6...  your forgeting the Note 5 and edge+ 2 phones that battery last longer.  screen time is what matters not how many days you can get out of the battery.  Its a smart phone not a dumb phone for calling and texting....

The real lesson to be learned from this experience should be to never purchase a phone sold by a company that permits carriers to take control of the operating system.

Speak with your wallet.  It's the only voice that vendors really understand.

This is ridculous.  The first ridiculous thing is that this thread is marked "solved."  Until the update is out, it is not solved.

Second, marshmallow has been out how long?  Samsung released marshmallow for the S6 Edge + when?  Other carriers around the world have had it how long?  It works for every other carrier.  How can AT&T have special issues that need to be worked out during testing?  It doesn't.  Instead, AT&T shows a complete disregard for what its customers actually want.

There are two possible explanations for why AT&T has not released this update.  The first is that they simply do not care about their customers using these phones.  The second, and more likely reason, is that they are need to make sure all of their bloatware, which will now undoubtedly include Directv bloatware, is on the device -- front and center.  Again, AT&T, your customers do not want 57 AT&T bloatware apps, so either way, the fact that this update is not out is due to AT&T's complete disregard for what its customers really want.  Plain and simple.  There is no other logical explanation.  Start thinking about what your customers actually want and you may stop losing customers to T Mobile.

Prompted with a software download this morning.  Again got my hopes up thinking it was marshmallow.  Was another 209 mb security update.
The wait still continues......

I'm happy to see S6 and S6 Edge are finally getting the 6.01 update. However I'm wondering why the S6 Edge plus did not get the update too. There is no difference in the software for this iteration. The only difference is the size of the phone. I really hope At&t plans to update the edge plus model soon. I guess I will know better in the future than to buy the more expensive model because it seems they are always the last phones to get the updates.
