Ways to read missed texts?
Sometimes if I am barely in cell range a text will start to come through, but not actually make it to my phone. The message is lost, as it doesn't re-send when I get back in service range. Is there a way to view texts at AT&T? I'm not sure what to do about this, as I am frequently in and out of cell range, and this is my business phone.

No, not with prepaid. Once a text is delivered, it is gone from ATT’s system. Apparently, you are in range long enough for ATT’s system to show the message delivered. If it weren’t, it would be resent when you were back in range.
