Using data in Mexico

I’m in Mexico and I can’t use my data but my service works, I have an iPhone XR and the 65 dollar unlimited prepaid plan with At&t, I’ve tried everything to get my data to work, restarted my phone, reset network setting, airplane mode, checked if roaming was on, and nothing has worked. Both my parents also have a prepaid plan but the cheaper one and their data and service works.

We can definitely help access data while in Mexico, @Edwin10

AT&T wireless handsets are programmed to automatically connect to a preferred-carrier network while roaming outside of the U.S except while in Mexico, or Canada.

We suggest changing your settings to switch to roaming partners.

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular > Network Selection.
  2. Choose from the list of available carriers that appear.
  3. After selecting the Carrier you want, go back to the main Settings screen and wait for your iPhone to connect to the network.

You can check your parents devices for the carrier they're devices are using before you start. For more information you can check out view or change cellular settings on iPhone.
