Transfer from one AT&T prepaid plan to another AT&T prepaid
Hello all, We have an AT&T 1-year prepaid plan that comes with 8gb of data/month, and we are coming to the end of the first year. The current offering is 16gb of data for the same 1-year prepaid plan, but AT&T is only offering us the 8gb to renew our 1-year prepaid plan, not the 16gb. They say that if we want the 16gb we'll have create new accounts, with new phone numbers. We need to keep our existing numbers. We are also not interested in switching to a month-to-month plan. Has anyone found a way to transfer from one prepaid plan to another prepaid plan without having to change phone numbers? Thanks in advance, Dave

We understand how important it is to take advantage of our 16 GB prepaid plan and keep your same number, @DaveC123.
The 16 GB 12-month prepaid plan is an online offer only promotion. It requires a new activation. In order to get this plan, you can either sign up with a new number, which we do understand that is not an option for you as you did mention you want to keep your same number. Another option is to port out, but please keep in mind you will have to wait 60 days to be considered a new customer.
Also, we are always offering different prices and promotions throughout the year. You can always check back in for updates.
We hope this information helps. Please reach back out with any other questions.

The only way for you to get the 16GB offer and keep your number is to first port your number to a different carrier, then port it back. It will then qualify as a new activation. I do not believe that 60 day restriction applies to prepaid.
