Prepaid payment 30 or 90 days?

I am on a $30/month plan. It expires tomorrow. Yesterday, I made a payment of $30 with a refill card. Then, I received a message saying that the payment was accepted and the credit was valid until May 15 (90 days from the payment day). Wasn't that supposed to be 30 days from the payment day?

Today, I checked my account and it says that my plan will renew in two days and it still shows the $30 credit valid until May 15. Can somebody please explain me what is going on?

Thank you.

This means if you opt not the renew your plan when its time your balance would not expire until May 15 as you made a payment between $25 and $99.

Except that you can’t “opt not to renew the plan”. As long as the balance is sufficient to renew the plan, it will renew. Bottom line, your $30 refill is good for 90 days or until used and it will get used to renew your plan. Now if you had refilled $25 which is not enough to renew your plan, that $25 would just sit there on your account for 90 days.

Let us provide you with more information on how PREPAID payments work @mikenmel1977.

Amounts deposited into your account expire in accordance with the stated refill denomination expiration period ($10-$24 refills expire in 30 days, $25 to $99 in 90 days, $100 or more in 365 days). This means if you opt not the renew your plan when its time your balance would not expire until May 15 as you made a payment between $25 and $99.

This information can be found in the Terms of Service for PREAPID Users.

We hope this helps! Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
