Nokia G20 on prepaid plan won't make outgoing calls

I had a ATT prepaid plan with calls and text only.

I switched to a different prepaid plan with data, text, and calls.

Data and text are working fine but I can no longer dial out or receive calls.

My phone says LTE.

Before I switched the plan, I had no problems with calls.

New ATT network does support my phone.

I tried restarting, toggling air plan mode and dad on and off but makes no difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Just verify the model number is TA 1343?

And you switched to which prepaid plan?

@formerlyknownas

Yes that's the correct model and I had $30 monthly plan with unlimited text/calls and No data. Now I have a $30 monthly plan with unlimited text/calls and 5 GB data.

You were on a very old plan. Is it possible you also have a very old Sim card? It’s possible changing plans triggered the system to check your Sim card and your IMEI.
in order to get HD voice your Sim card must be UICC-G or higher.  If you remove the Sim card and check the numbers it should have the digits to seven or higher in the ninth and 10th position for the ICC ID number.

Thank you for reaching out to us @Prepaid22. We can help you gets your calls back working!

Thank you @formerlyknownas for that helpful and accurate information!

We double checked and your device is compatible, however your SIM card may need to be replaced. This is usually the case when a device is compatible and data and text are working but calls are not. We have a great post with helpful information and troubleshooting steps for the 3G/4G phones in regards to the 3G sunset.

We hope this helps! If you need further assistance, reach back out to us!

@formerlyknownas   the 10th digit is less* than 7. So does this mean I need to replace SIM? Can I keep my number? Thanks.

You should go to a store oh, that's the best way for them to put your current phone number and plan on a new SIM card

@formerlyknownas  Amazon has official ATT SIM cards. One is orange/white and another is blue/white with 5G written on it. Would the 5G sim be the one I want? Thanks!

Your phone won't get 5G anyway. But you do need a SIM card that has an ICC ID number capable of HD voice.

Thanks for the response, @Prepaid22.

We appreciate our ACE @formerlyknownas for providing this great information!

Let us help you with replacing your SIM card. We do recommend getting one from your local AT&T Store. You may go in and get a new SIM card or we can have one shipped to you if you are unable to go to in store. Let us know what works best for you. We can bring you into a Direct Message to process the order.

We look forward to your response.
