You should not duplicate posts. If you posted more than once on the same topic, duplicates are removed by the moderators.

As @dwill05  wrote ..

If your balance is $0 for 60 days, your account is canceled and number lost.

and moved to verizon now im not able to receive incoming phone calls and texts verizon says now that the number was not active when ported out (they said i cud port out when the number was not active with att)

No carrier can port an inactive number.

is there any chance that i can port my number back to att and still keep my number as i still have it at verizon

If the number did not exist when Verizon tried to port, it does not exist. Your service was canceled. You'll have to accept a new number from Verizon.

You lose your number after 60 days with a $0 balance on your prepaid account.  Since you mentioned  not renewing for 3-4 months, that sounds like what happened.

If your number is active with Verizon, which doesn’t make sense if you aren’t getting calls and texts, then port it back to AT&T and see what happens.  The port will either work or it won’t.

Got to be careful switching gears that quickly you'll strip them...

In your first post you said calls and texts aren't working properly and Verizon says your number was not ported because it was not active with AT&T.

But then you're saying the number is active with Verizon and you want to port it back to AT&T.

Please pick one

@erikfassb

The way porting works, the number has to be active. Companies are not allowed to take an inactive number as that is in the pool for their current carrier's customers. And Verizon confirmed it was an inactive number when they went to port, which would mean the port could not happen.

However you say the number is active with Verizon and it shows on the Caller ID when you call someone. That would say the number did get ported. That is a contradiction to above.

If the number was inactive, so ineligible to ported but Verizon somehow provisioned it partially (so you call and it shows on Caller ID but nobody can call the number) then that is quite the mess. Whether it was active (so porting eligible), or inactive (porting shouldn't happen at all), this sounds like either way Verizon's system has an issue. Regular customer support may not be able to fix it, so unless they can escalate it, a BBB complaint may be needed as this seems to be a very unique situation.
