my prepaid card balance is gone but payment is still due
I've added a $30 prepaid card to my account,saw the balance there for a few minutes but now it's gone and my payment is still due.
When I try to use the pin again it says that the card is in use or expired.
How is this company still in business? In Europe this thing is so easy.

Your prepaid balance is a little like PayPal. You put money in an AT&T uses it to refill your service. Your service refills every 30 days.
Unless there is something wrong with your phone, your $30 refill card that you deposited was used to refill and then pay for the $30 service plan with 5 GB of data.
From your description everything worked exactly as it should. If you are a brand new customer from Europe, and brought your own phone you should have verified through the prepaid BYOD IMEI check that your phone is capable of working on AT&T.

What does the IMEI check say about your phone? It should kick back either your phone is not compatible, or offer to mail you a SIM card if it is compatible
