Multi line discount setup scam

Day of transaction is October 28.

My prepaid account 1 was on $45 plan and was paid till 10th Nov.

My prepaid account 2 was on $50 plan and was paid till 25th Nov.

Upgraded to multi line discount. Was forced to switch plan 1 to $ 50 plan.

Screen said monthly billing will be $70 for 2 lines.

Any balances will be prorated. Approved the transaction.

Screen says pay $44 and taxes else line will be disconnected.

Calculation says it should be 24 and not 44. Got charged $ 20 extra by AT&T.

If you think you were supposed to get prorated charges for line 1, you aren’t. You made a plan change, there is no proration for that. The only prorated charges are for line 2 joining the multiline account. Looks to me like the charges were correct. You pay $40 for line 2, $30 for line 2. You paid the full $40 for line 1 because of the plan change and only paid $4 for line 2 with the proration.

Thats why it is a scam. You join multiline to save $20 per month.

And you end up paying extra $20, are forced to change plans, have no proper invoices for the charges and even the customer service teams from ATnT find it difficult to understand or credit for these issues.

How are you paying an extra $20? Sorry but that makes no sense. The reason you were forced to change plans is the $45 plan no longer exists. It was grandfathered several years ago.

Line 1 was paid till 10th Nov on $45 plan.

And paid full charges from Oct 28 - Nov 27 on $50 plan as per your explanation.

Thats double charge for the same line for the same period.
