Moved overseas, upgraded Prepaid account to Unlimited International, "Phones not registered on a network, only emergency calls"

I just moved to New Zealand, I didnt think i would need my Prepaid Phone so i didnt bother to upgrade to an International plan before leaving the States. That is not the case, just about every account i need access to is requested a PIN be sent to my cell# (702 area number) to verify it is me. It has become more important then my Social Sec # at this point.... smh

I purchased the $35 Prepaid International Unlimited addon pack. However my phone still is not sending or receiving any calls/ texts.

When i do try to make a call it comes up at the bottom that " your phone's not registered on a network, so you can only make emergency calls".

It says i have 1 bar at the top, so i would imagine a call should be able to go even with low signal.

Airplane mode is not on.

I have gone into the general settings and had the Network Settings Reset.

I have taken the SIM out and turned phone off/on.

This is a Galaxy S22 running Android btw

Please Help!

Sorry, but AT&T prepaid does not roam in New Zealand. Link below has info on countries that have prepaid roaming. You might be able to use Wi-Fi calling when connected to Wi-Fi if you have Wi-Fi calling enabled.

Sorry to say but you wasted your money. The $35 international travel add-on only works in those supported countries posted above. Also WiFi calling won’t work unless you have an active monthly plan meaning paid for. If you let your monthly plan expire since you moved, WiFi calling won’t work on an expired plan.

Thank you, one simple oversight has caused so much grief.
