Mobile Hotspot usage

My wifi connection on my laptop is monitored and is at 6.94 GB. It is connected to my Hotspot on my AT&T pre-paid cellular phone. Why is AT&T reporting that I've used up my 25 GB of Hotspot data?

How much data does your phone report that you've used (I would expect independent usage data to be available on your phone from your phone)?

My phone shows that I've used 26.54 GB since my plan renewed on 10th. I only use the Hotspot on my phone to connect my laptop. My laptop wifi usage shows 6.94 usage since 4 days ago. My laptop downloads are only 5.57 GB and I watched a few YouTube videos. Also there are no other devices that connect to my mobile Hotspot.

Hello, Trevorhawkins! We want to help with your questions regarding the data usage being reported.

 

We understand that the data usage is being reported as 25 GB, and that you are stating you have not used that. There could be a number of reasons for a delay in the data usage report:

  • We usually update recent data use every three hours.
  • You may not be able to see usage since your last bill online if you have a new account or changed your plan in the middle of a bill period.
  • Usage info may not be available while we’re processing your bill. Usage generated near the end of a bill period may not show up until the next bill period.

Also, be sure to close the apps you are not using to reduce the data usage.

But your phone is saying you used more than 25GB. That's not AT&T from AT&T, that's your phone, right?

If so, then AT&T is saying 25GB and so is your phone, it's the laptop not reporting that much data. Maybe it's the laptop that's incorrect?

Where are you looking in your laptop to determine how much WiFi data it is using?
