Issue with porting number and cancelling the request

entered a request to port my number from Tracfone to AT&T. The port request was completed by ATT prepaid could not activate on two brand new sim cards. so ported back to Tracfone. Asked AT&T to cancel the original port-in request.  Problems is I cannot send/receive text messages or have an internet connection. making/receiving calls are ok. Tracfone is unable to provide the "balance" as well. 

Upon checking the ATT prepaid website, I can see call logs.  looks like ATT got hold of my number, cancelled the port-in request, honored the port out, but has not actually cancelled the account.

How do I go about resolving this ?

Now your problem is with tracfone. You need to get them to complete the port back.

Number looks like it has been ported back to Tracfone as service shows as "active".  Could it show as active but not actually active ??

But call logs do show up on the ATT website as I previously said.

On the phone with Tracfone. they confirm service is with Tracfone. but no luck sending/rcvg text messages...

But the account on ATT still seems active. Should I call ATT to completely cancel the account immediately.

Now I am confused. 

ATT claims they still have the number. In fact, they accepted a charge of $5 and my texts became working.

Tracfone also claims they have the number....
