How can I pay - website just freezes on payment page?

I have been on to ATT phone support for the past 2 hours, going round in circles. I have activated the SIM, however when I go online and enter the US card details I get '?' at the side of the card number and CSV, they are correct as I have used the card today online. The page will not continue. I have contacted customer support but they ask for wireless number (10 digit) which I do not have. ANy ideas please?

As @formerlyknownas mentioned, you may be receiving this error because you're outside of the United States. There are certain limitations and restrictions that block you from accessing AT&T PREPAID in other countries.

Hi there @Graham1609BG, our apologies that you are running into this situation.

 

You can make a payment or refill account:

 

Use an AT&T PREPAID card:

  1. Sign in to your AT&T PREPAID account.
  2. Select Make a Payment.
  3. Scroll to AT&T PREPAID Refill Card and enter the PREPAID PIN from the back of the card.
  4. Select Continue. You'll see a payment confirmation.

You are able to pick these cards up at any Walmart, Best Buy, or Target locations.

It would be ok but att website doesn't allow me to do that on activation! I get to section 4 of 6 and att website freezes. I'm beginning to think it's a waste of time and looking at other providers.

Is there any way you can try on a different device? You can also try clearing your browsers cache and cookies to see if that helps. 

 

Other ways you can activate your prepaid account is from your device, online, or over the phone. 

 

If you keep getting the same error when entering your card number you may need to use a different card. You can get a refill card, as mentioned above by Ashley and make your payment that way.

That does not work, you misunderstand. The sim is activated and I am part 4 of 6 on the activation section. When I enter the US address for the debit card it does not proceed. Seems to freeze. There are ? on the card number and CSV, the card is Mastercard and the CSV/card number are correct. I am going around in circles...

I have not even gotten to the prepaid account section yet!

I am trying to pay with a US debit card and I am in the UK right now. Beginning to question my choice of provider.

I have tried several devices and platforms, a windows laptop, IPad, 1 anbdroid mobile and 1 iphone and still have the same issue! When I phone up, I end up with the robot call cutting short the call and hanging up after going around in circles.

I cant get a refill card as I am in England now and not in the USA.

You cannot activate AT&T prepaid from the UK. You can't even connect to the AT&T Towers or servers.

If you are coming to the USA, activate when you get here. 

If you are trying to activate new prepaid service for the purpose of using it in the UK, you can't do that it won't work.

Obviously I am not trying to use an American mobile provider in the uk! 

Not blocked as according to att robot message the sim is activated but for some insane reason the payment using a us debit card and us address freezes, as I repeatedly keep saying. 

I've now decided to bin att sue to this and buy an actual prepaid SIM card that works from one of your competitors! Att just lost $65 per month!

You still cannot activate service for a US carrier outside the USA. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Paying activates service. 

So OF course you can't. 

Paying for service (you can't use) starts the 30 day clock on your refill.  Why would you do that anyway?

Hum, well according to att automated service the card IS activated and I have done it in the UK.  I lost the will to live with this and found a USA card with unlimited data for $40 and I now have the card and it has been activated. Pity att couldn't provide this service!
