Hotspot denied on Prepaid Unlimited Plus Plan
Hi!
I'm on Prepaid Unlimited Plus Monthly Plan and I just switched to Nokia XR20 phone.
My old phone worked fine as a hotspot, but on Nokia I'm getting a message that my plan is not eligible:

I checked my balance and it was just renewed with 10Gb of hotspot data remaining:

Any idea what is going on? Is it Nokia issue or ATT ones?

If the nokia is the correct model number XR20 (TA-1371), it’s certified for AT&T. Did you change your phone information in your pre-paid online account? Has your Sim card been replaced in the past couple of years?.
it should work, so I suspect AT&T does not yet recognize the phone.
‘If turning off, then on doesn’t register on the system, or correcting phone in your pay go online, you may have to call

I solved the issue.
It was because WiFi was turned on and my phone was connected to my home wifi network. If wifi is off hotspot can be turned on. The message that my plan is not eligible is pretty confusing in this case. My old phone was able to turn on hotspot even if it is connected to another wifi network so I didn't pay attention on it.

That's backwards.
When you turn on your mobile hotspot it automatically turns off Wi-Fi connecting you to your to your home or another Wi-Fi connection.
Cannot figure out that message, I suspect this is just a delay in plan kicking in.

No It doesn't turn off wifi connection when I turn on hotspot.
It just show me that message (plan is not eligible). I have to turn off wifi connection by myself to be able to turn on hotspot. I looks like Nokia issue. I can reproduced anytime. It's not on ATT.

That's great to hear that disabling Wi-Fi resolved that trend on your device, @Alik!
As @formerlyknownas stated, enabling Mobile Hotspot disconnects the device from any active Wi-Fi session and connects it to AT&T's mobile network.
If that is not the case, an action that can help is to power the device off for several seconds then powering it on again. This refreshes your connection to the network while closing the operating system and all programs and finalizes all pending input and output operations on your phone before it restarts.
Now when your phone connects to a Wi-Fi session, it should disconnect from Wi-Fi when Mobile Hotspot is turned on.
