Hello @Sofietie, we are here to help you with converting to e-SIM.

To Move physical SIM to eSIM on new iPhone follow these steps:

  1. From your new iPhone, go to Settings.
  2. Select Cellular, then tap Add Cellular Plan.
    • New iPhone will display a phone number (along with physical SIM icon) associated to their Apple ID.
  3. Select phone number you want to use in new iPhone.
    • The new iPhone displays Add Cellular Plan screen, advising customer the number selected is associated to a physical SIM that can be converted to an eSIM. It also advises the customer the physical SIM will be permanently disabled if they proceed.
  4. Select Convert Cellular Plan.
    • Convert to eSIM screen displays on new iPhone.
  5. Select Convert to eSIM.
    • On the new iPhone a message is displayed to notify customer they must approve the transfer from their old iPhone.
  6. Select OK.
    • At this time, a message is displayed on the customers old iPhone asking the customer if they would like to transfer their number to a new iPhone.
  7. From your old iPhone, tap Transfer.
    • Finish Setting Up Your Cellular Plan notification will appear on new device.
  8. From your new iPhone, tap notification for Finish Setting Up Your Carriers Cellular Plan.
    • Cellular settings screen appears, the phone number (cellular plan/eSIM) displays “Activating” indicator.
    • Once activation completes the “Activating” indicator disappears.
  9. Complete test call to confirm service is working.
  10. Discard physical SIM in old iPhone (it is no longer active).

Hi there, Sofietie!

The recommended solution will work with AT&T PREPAID. Check out the details under "How do I transfer an eSIM?" and click open iPhone when you visit Get to know eSIM.

We hope this information helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.
