Hi virgos2614! Let’s meet in a Direct Message (DM) to see what's going on in your area.

Please check your Direct Message Inbox for a message being sent to you. Look for the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums page.

Meanwhile, you may have better chances with cellular connectivity by switching your device from 5G to 4G LTE:

Android

  1. Drag down from the top of your screen and select the Settings icon.
  2. Once there, select Mobile Networks.
  3. Select Network mode.
  4. Select LTE/WCDMA/GSM(auto connect) from the available network modes.
  5. Choose 4G LTE from the list of networks presented.

Apple

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Cellular.
  3. Choose Cellular Data Options.
  4. Pick Voice & Data.
  5. Change from 5G auto to LTE.

Make sure to keep an eye on your DM. We want to look into what's going on with the network in your area.

Perhaps AT&T is not the right service provider for you? If you are in an area of poor coverage and have never used AT&T before, that would be my first guess.

If you have been an AT&T customer for a while, and you just purchased a new phone, and that phone is not working, then perhaps it is a faulty phone or a faulty SIM card. If it is the phone or the SIM card you need to go to an AT&T store and have them take a look at both and see if one or the other needs to be replaced.

Hello @virgos2614, we are here to help you with your phone service.

Here are some troubleshooting tips for making and receiving calls:

  • Turn your phone off and back on.
  • Make sure you have service in your area. Check out the AT&T PREPAID Coverage Map.
  • Activate your AT&T PREPAID account, refill your minutes, or renew expired AT&T PREPAID plans at the AT&T PREPAID Support Center.
  • Be sure that you and your callers use 10- or 11-digit dialing when placing calls.
  • Learn how to call or message internationally if you’re traveling outside the U.S.
  • Check out Device support tutorials and videos that'll teach you how to:
    • Turn off Airplane Mode. Most phones display an airplane icon when Airplane Mode is on.
    • Turn off Do Not Disturb or Quiet Hours. Some phones have this setting to keep you from getting calls during certain times or while the setting is turned on.
    • Turn off Call Forwarding. Press #21# on your phone and then the CallSendTalk, or Receiver key. If your calls continue to forward to another number, learn how to Learn How to Turn Call Forwarding On and Off.
    • Check the Blocked Calls or Reject List. On some phones, you can block calls from certain numbers or create a reject list to avoid calls you don’t want to get.
    • Insert SIM card. Steps on how to remove and reinsert the SIM card if your phone displays Insert SIM or Emergency Calls Only.

Learn how to Troubleshoot When You Can’t Make or Receive Calls with A&T PREPAID.

I visited AT&T near my place, they said my area is going through some problems should've fixed right now, but they couldn't say when this is fixed. They just recommended to turn on the WIFI calling to make and receive calls.

But I think I still have some issues with access to the 5G.

My device and USIM don't have any issue, just only coverage of ATT makes this issue, I think.
