Can't Finish Setup; I have no phone number
I turned it on, but after that NOTHING went like the Quick Start guide said it would. Instead of the setup/activation app initializing, I was asked to create a fingerprint lock, a PIN, and enter my Google information. Under phone information, it says "phone number not available." The Quick Start guide also said if the activation app screen did not appear, that there would be a text message with a link for me to click. There ISN'T any such text message.
So now I have a phone I can't use with no way to load the minutes that I have purchased for it. Every time I try to get help from various AT&T service departments, I am stonewalled because THEY WANT MY ACCOUNT PHONE NUMBER! I can't GIVE it to them because the phone refuses to complete setup!
I began learning how to use, program, and administrate computers since before there was such a thing as the internet, and I also have taught Computer Science at university. I'm not computer-illiterate, nor am I an (Edited per community guidelines), yet this STUPIDLY-written device defies my best efforts. I want to make a PHONE CALL. How do I finish setup so I can USE MY PHONE?
Oh, and the (Edited per community guidelines) manufacturer didn't include a printed manual with the actual phone, so I had to download it in PDF format. (I had to author a post to ask if anyone knows how to order a printed manual, which hasn't been answered yet). It too does not answer my question.
