Buying a prepaid plan from abroad

Hello,

we need a prepaid plan for our son who is coming to US for studies. We wanted to buy one in advance delivered straight to his school so it would wait him there when he arrives next week. However, when trying to purchase a plan online, we were asked for a 10-digit contact number which we obviously don´t have and going around that question was not possible. Any advice how to proceed...?

Even after purchasing a SIM card, your son still has to activate service select a number and pay for a plan. So you're doing the absolute simplest part of the process, all of the complicated stuff that hangs people up has to be done inside the United States by your son anyway.

If you still want by a SIM card you can do so from a third party like eBay or Amazon.

The problem is prepaid accounts can’t be accessed from outside of the US. Account access is blocked from most locations abroad. Plan selection and payment, in most cases, can only be done in the US.
