Yes, it would be nice to have a clear answer from AT&T. I am not holding my breath.
I have honestly never had a worse, more frustrating interaction with any company. Remind me to tell you the one about the two-hour-long phone call yesterday -- the whole thing on speakerphone in an AT&T store, with the store manager standing by my side, trying and failing to help me navigate the half dozen folks we talked to at corporate -- that ended with a supervisor, who had promised to transfer me to the supervisor of what she said (incorrectly) would be the department to help me, instead transferring me to an automated entry-level line that, when it couldn't recognize my iPad's cellular number, disconnected me. After two hours. Standing there in the AT&T store.
That was just a small part of my interaction with AT&T yesterday. And I am no closer to resolving the issue now than I was yesterday before I started.

You can view your account online at att.com/ipadlanding. It will take you to your account and allow you to add data 2gb for 3 months. It is the only way I have found into the account as I can no longer access it via settings on my ipad.
