Why does AT&T not prevent malicious robocalls/SPAM?

I’m disgusted at how I have to put up with non-stop calls day in and day out, mostly from numbers that are mirroring my phone number but randomizing the last 4 s digits. My bill collectively (Just wireless) exceeds $400 /month.

My number is 847-338-XXX and these are the SPAM/Robocalls I’ve received just in the last hour or so.

You need to fix this. I’ve reached out to my Congresswoman and as many news agencies that will hear me out.

I'm not interested in paying you a penny more to fix this, you need to fix this on your own and before you ask, I use AT&T Call Protect.

This is not a problem unique to ATT. All carriers, mobile and landline, face the same problem. The problem is you can’t just block calls from going through. There has to be a way of knowing the call is spam or a robo call. It’s not like the callers identify themselves as spammers or scammers. The biggest issue with these calls is the number spoofing and all carriers are working on a scheme to limit number spoofing. We all wish there was a solution but it is an industry wide problem. Not something ATT or Verizon or T-Mobilecan solve by themselves.

I’m with Verizon and get several a day.  It’s not something that is easily prevented.  It was no different when with AT&T.

AT&T and Verizon have a paid subscription program that is supposed to help identify the caller.  They don’t always work well.

I know it's not unique to ATT, but if ATT is pulling the number...find a work around that allows me to OK these blocks that fit a certain criteria (like mirroring the first 90% of my cell number).

I've heard this can be solved with a paid subscription, but COME ON. This is like opioid producers investing in rehab facilities. Double dipping. It's gross.

The paid subscription includes advanced caller ID.  It doesnt prevent all calls.
