What is the incentive for staying with this ATT&T?
I have been using AT&T since it was once Cingulair. And I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. So I never mind paying a little more to get better service with you my plans. But now my two year contract is up. Like I have done in the past I want trade my phone up and sign up again. However I was told that now I can just trade my old galaxy s3 up and get a discount on something like a s5. I have to pay out right for it, and still sign another contract. I dont get why I would want to do that? Why would I wanna pay more when I already budget my phone bill for the past 2 years. The plan fine, the cycel of every two year I can upgrade my phone to the newest hottest device for max $200, has always had a charm. Why cant I do that anymore with out be penialized? I figure staying with the company means something. I just feel like just another faceless number.

vested interest...lol).
Instead of accusing people of not telling the truth...they should fix the
problem or try to really provide customer service

If your that unhappy then leave... ATT is doing what the market wants. The new plans are cheaper and people like you still complain. The legacy plans cost more than these new plans. On the new plan im saving 140 bucks a month. I just dont buy my phones from ATT. I can use next or pay full retail also. Before I was paying for a subsity even tho I brought my own devices. ATT split those charges out like they should have long ago. They have done this overseas for years and years.

finance a phone if you'd like.
Bottom line...AT&T has FAILED to provide quality consistent customer
service when so many people are dissatisfied. When companies elect to
disregard long-term customers, they usually regret it. Changing policies
and practices that go against the wants and expectations of long term
customers? Everything isn't for everyone...so AT&T can follow Sears, Kmart,
Circuit City, JC Penney, Montgomery Wards, Caldor's and the numerous other
companies that failed to pay attention to trends, styles and expectations
of customers.
What is the term???? Oh...too big to fail? LOL

(because they know or should know that the update is not compatible with
all features of an older phone)...then get them to finance a phone or pay a
penalty. Yeah!
Marketing at its' worse.

if ATT was doing it wrong then verizon and sprint would not be doing the samething now would they. Tmobile just decided to kick contracts to the curb all together.

give it 1 to 2 years and there wont be any contracts. The US market is headed the way of the European market where you dont sign contracts.

"free" phone.
I used to be an AT&T champion...but the tide has definitely changed. I am
waiting to be out of contract with all my devices less than 6 months...and
I am leaving.
Taking their advice and trying a new carrier.
I wonder if the marketing team is familiar with the book, "The Tipping
Point"? It is real slippery slope...all you need is enough people with
enough influence to inform everyone in their circle. Real simple.

There was never any such thing as a free phone. You are going to pay for it one way or another.
ATT spells it out clear as day for any one to look at.
**For plans 10GB or higher, AT&T customers with smartphones on 2-year wireless contracts prior to February 2, 2014, are eligible for the $15 per month access charge. For plans 2GB to 6GB, AT&T customers with smartphones on 2-year wireless contracts prior to March 9, 2014, are eligible for the $25 per month access charge. Upgrade: If upgrading to a smartphone on a 2-year wireless contract, you will lose the discounted access charge for that line. To receive this discount, upgrade with AT&T Next or pay the full purchase price. Data Increases: If you are currently on a 2GB to 6GB plan and getting the discounted access charge for a smartphone line on a 2-year wireless contract, if you increase your data to a 10GB or higher plan, you may lose your discount.

you responded to a solicitation from a company?
AT&T and every other company has the right to change plans, policies,
etc...but it does not remove the ability or right for customers to call it
as they see it.
I continue to find it interesting that "non-employees" are posting the fine
print. What is your discount? Is it available to all customers?
